DO I NEED A HOME INSPECTION?

Yes, this may be one of your largest investments, and a home inspection will help you prepare for what is in the future.

DO I NEED A HOME PRE-INSPECTION BEFORE SELLING MY HOME?

It is a good idea to perform a pre-inspection before selling your home. This is to let you know where you stand in the market based on your home condition. It is also essential to understand that there are no homes in perfect condition. However, repairing certain items will help prevent buyers from asking for seller concessions at closing. A pre-inspection can also help to speed up the closing procedure.

DO HOME INSPECTORS NEED TO BE LICENSED?

In New York State, a home inspector must take a course from an accredited school outlined by the State. After completing the course, the home inspector must pass a test given by New York State. After obtaining your home inspection license, an inspector will need to complete a continuing education course every two years.

SHOULD I GET A RADON TEST?

Radon is an invisible gas you cannot smell or taste. The problem with radon is that it is a form of decaying uranium from the ground that, when inhaled, the gas damages the lining in your lung tissue, possibly leading to lung cancer. It is recommended that this test is performed during your home inspection.
